Hiddenite Center, Inc. - 316 Hiddenite Church Road - Hiddenite, NC 28636

Tucked away in the crossroads-town of Hiddenite, North Carolina is a three story Victorian home, fully restored to its grandeur of the early 1900's. If you drove by this home during the early to mid 1970's, you would have seen this majestic home overgrown with vines and in a state of sad abandonment.

Life returned to this fine home after its purchase by Mrs. Eileen Lackey Sharpe who saw a true "diamond in the rough" and an opportunity to bring a folklife and cultural arts center to the people of western North Carolina. Today the Lucas Mansion is a polished gem, restored to its victorian elegance and home to an art gallery, doll exhibits and the offices of the Hiddenite Center, Incorporated.
